Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can influence and improve recruitment processes? If so, we want YOU to join our dynamic SMR team as a Technical Interviewer & Onboarder.
What You’ll Be Doing
Technical Interviewing & onboarding
- Conduct technical and competency-based interviews with potential SMR Mobile Mechanics and candidates for other SMR roles.
- Complete risk assessments for any pre-employment check flags within 48 working hours and submit them to HR.
- Maintain accurate notes and outcomes in the Eploy system for all assessments and ride-outs.
Onboarding
- Organise all onboarding for new starters, including:
- Van and equipment allocation
- Accommodation and induction arrangements
- Uniform ordering
- Call sign and IT account setup
- Hire car booking
- Support induction processes for both Mobile Mechanics and Contact Centre colleagues – including ride-outs for induction assessments.
- Maintain effective communication channels with new joiners from first contact until fully onboarded.
Process Improvement
- Continuously develop technical assessment and onboarding processes, ensuring they are evidence-driven and up to date.
- Work closely with SMR Management, HR, and Training to enhance onboarding effectiveness.
- Keep trackers and audit trails accurate and up to date across shared platforms.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - ability to engage with all levels internally and externally
- Strong Technical knowledge in order to challenge questions where needed
- Experience with field-based management and Technician roles
- Gravitas to influence and challenge stakeholders up to senior management level
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and targets
- Process improvement experience – a natural problem solver!
- Target-driven with a fast-paced work ethic
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of light motor vehicle repair – essential
